Live Sound Seminar & Field Trip
Experience what it's like to be a live sound engineer working with an artist on the Vans Warped Tour. Students will first experience an intimate small group seminar to get an overview of running live sound. Then take a field trip to see a professional in action during a set. From asking the questions to watching the pros do it in real life this is the perfect educational experience for those who are interested in live sound.
Chris Pollock is a touring audio engineer born and raised near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and now based in Long Beach, California. He is currently the front of house engineer for Memphis May Fire.
Chris attended the Music Industry Program at Drexel University in Philadelphia. In 2010, he left to begin touring as the drummer for VersaEmerge. Along the way, he discovered his passion for audio and technology could be combined with his passion for travel. In 2012, Chris changed his trajectory from drums to front of house audio and tour management with I, The Breather. Shortly thereafter his resume grew to include artists such as Born of Osiris, Norma Jean, The World Alive, and A Skylit Drive. Chris has also worked outside of the hard rock genre with roots/jam group Cabinet and the indie/pop band The Mowglis.
Over the years Chris has mixed in a variety of venues from small clubs to massive festivals. These festivals include but are not limited to The Vans Warped Tour, Rockstar Mayhem Festival, Download Festival in Leicestershire, England, With Full Force Festival in Lobnitz, Germany and Rock Al Parque Festival in Bogata, Colombia.
