As a long-time student of many key players of this industry, the time has come to share the wealth of knowledge I’ve acquired. My goal is to help my peers pave their own road to success, and to give my friends and fans an insight into the business of music.

A Story Worth Noticing

My class will concentrate on the difficult task of building a following and a buzz that will attract record companies. We'll cover the art of moving from local to national level, social networking “tricks”, and when and how to secure a manager, a booking agent and an entertainment lawyer (somebody’s got to inspect that first contract!). We’ll discuss the fine like between being persistent and being a pest, and the overall importance of building a stand-out "story" for your band.

From fronting one of metalcore's stand out acts, Ice Nine Kills, to owning and operating his Kleaver Klothing company, Spencer Charnas has perfected the art of strategic marketing, fan interaction and infectious songwriting. His band has taken part in numerous national tours with scene heavy weights such as Motionless In White, Suicide Silence, Crown The Empire, Attila and has appeared on multiple years of the Vans Warped Tour. The latest Ice Nine Kills album 'Every Trick In The Book' debuted impressively on several Billboard charts including #1 on the Heatseakers and #3 in Hard Rock. Armed with a devoted following for both his band and lifestyle brand, Spencer looks forward to sharing his knowledge of the ever evolving music industry at this year's TEI Warped Tour workshops
